Well as you know I was really looking forward to my trip down south last week, I was off to the Pete Waterman "Hit Factory Live" concert in Hyde Park, London. I was looking forward to seeing all the pop stars I grew up listening to, Jason Donovan, Rick Astley, Sinitta, Sonia, Bananarama, Kylie etc etc. It was basically as if by magic my entire collection of 7inch vinyl singles had come to life and were due to appear before my very eyes.
So I drove down to London (It's quicker than flying by the time you have to check in and go through security etc) I arrived on the Monday evening, I figured I needed to give my self enough time to shop for some illuminous leg warmers and a "Frankie Says Relax" T-Shirt for the concert - I'm just kidding I already had them. Anyway, I received a text from a friend which said "I'm sorry to hear your concert has been cancelled" Well after a cup of tea with ten sugars to get over the shock I checked online and sure enough - Cancelled!! Gutted is not the word! I had been looking forward to it for months - looking forward to a nice summer night open air concert in the park but no Mother Nature had other plans - she thought the grass at Hyde Park needed watering so decided to send enough water down to turn it into a mud bath swamp!! So I packed the car and headed back up to Scotland with "Now that's what I call really cheesy music" blasting from the car stereo!
One of the reasons I had to head home was a friend of mine was getting married, my friend Laura who I used to present "The STV Casino" with. Well she looked absolutely stunning - she's a model anyway but in her full make up, hair all done and a gorgeous dress - she looked like the ultimate princess bride. We actually have a mutual friend in our Josie from The Nightshift, so of course we had to have our photo taken together, Josie looked lovely in her hat and dress, not forgetting the huge high heals she had on so just to let you into a wee secret - I'm only 5ft 8 so what you can't see in the photo is that I'm standing on a step!!
Until next time......
