How have you been? Well I've been sunning myself in Gran Canaria for the past week and taking it easy as the temperature hit 32 on some of the days. If you have yours booked and you are heading out to the same place make a beeline for Ricky's Show bar on the ground floor of the Yumbo Centre and have some fun. Before the show starts you can try the stage for yourself with a wee bit of Karaoke. Our week was made even better with the funniest shows featuring Hellon Earth (pic), Vanity Case and others who work there every night entertaining the holiday makers who are out for a good laugh. Unlike other shows around the Yumbo, Ricky's staff actually spend some time chatting to the customers. Well done to them and can't wait to get back. Get there early though to get the best seats and be ready to be dragged up on stage to take part.
Thank you to the boys at Luke & Jack in Virginia Street in Glasgow for my sunglasses - I looked a bit cool in my mirrored tinted shades - I was going for the Tom Cruise look and I might have pulled it off...lol. Check them out online. Thanks guys. I will be popping back in soon.
Back home a little bit sun burnt but brown as a berry. We touch down at Glasgow Prestwick Airport to a lovely sunny day but it’s not too long before heavy downpours make it feel like home and with sad faces all round it’s back to the grindstone. This weekend I have been working with June Brown MBE ( Dot Branning, Eastenders) launching the Duck Race from Paisley's River Cart all in aid of Charity. After a laugh and a wee cream tea she is back off again on the back of a motorbike to meet her fans... What a woman and sad to hear that's her left Albert Square for good to work on other projects.
Sunday the 13th of May and both me and June launch Paisley’s new internet station SCOTPOD. The interview was only supposed to be 10 min's long... One hour later and we are still going. Heading for drinky poos it’s of to the bar where June keeps us entertained with lots of stories. It was nice to see some friends there too - Sally Carr lead singer of Middle of The Road ( Chirpy Chirpy Cheap Cheap) and Jan Mack with partner Luddy. Good Luck to both of them in their new venture, Hope all goes to plan.
So as you can see it’s been busy – and I was supposed to be relaxing. Who says this Business of Show is easy!
Have fun Nightshifters and Stay Safe.
Speak to you soon on the telly.
