So here we go, yet another step closer to Summertime 2012 and if you’re anything like me I’m guessing you can hardly wait. Although I’m not the biggest sun-worshiper on earth I’m certainly no fan of the persistently dreech conditions we’ve been living with these past few weeks either – hasn’t it been miserable!!
Oh just a couple of important points now that May has arrived, especially if you’re superstitious! If you’re thinking of getting married in May then quite simply, “Don’t” according to the old saying, “Marry in May – you’ll rue the Day” secondly, Never wash a blanket in May – Not good apparently! There’s an old saying, “Wash a Blanket in May, Wash a Dear One Away”. Please whatever you do over the next 31 days – Step Away from the Washing Machine” Lol
One of the main reasons for my combined sense of enthusiasm and optimism for the summer months ahead revolves around a new wee summer car which I’ve just taken delivery of late last week. It’s the cheapest car I’ve purchased in possibly twenty years yet I’ve never been so excited, let me tell you a little about it. Over ten years old, one careful lady owner and I’m loving the car for 2 reasons, firstly it’s a cabriolet (let’s pray for the sunshine) and secondly it comes with it’s very own cassette player...........................yes you read right the first time, a cassette player – I absolutely love it!!
I have a huge collection of cassette’s which I personally compiled during the late seventies, eighties and nineties and at least up until now I’ve been unable to play any of these for the best part of fifteen years simply because I had no method of doing so, however as of today all that changes! I can hardly wait to re-visit some of those classic old tunes, all I need to do now is buy a cheap “Off the Shelf” portable dance floor and with a little luck along the way maybe I can re-discover a few of Jimbo’s Groovy Dance moves from those good old days, Haud me back Big Fella!! Lol
Catch up with you over the next few weekends on The Nightshift I hope.
Take it easy till then
Cheers
Jim xx
