Hiya Nightshifters,

Here we are again - blog time, I can't believe how quickly the two weeks come round. I was just thinking to myself - oh I'll need to write my blog for STV next week and it turns out that next week is this week and last week was actually the week before - confusing I know but I will explain it to you if I bump into you in the street.

Speaking of bumping into people in the street - I was walking in George Square in Glasgow when I saw a guy I thought I knew. I did know him but I couldn't remember where from, anyway I said hello how you doing? "eh aye fine" he replied in a pleasant and unsure way. I thought this was a bit odd and thought perhaps he didn't recognise me - anyway I racked my brains thinking of where I knew him from - turns out I don't know him at all!! It was Ricki Loney the Scottish X Factor contestant from a couple of years back (Google him if you can't remember) No wonder the poor guy looked a bit confused.

The same thing happened to me years ago when I did kid's TV. I was shopping in London and saw a guy I knew from a band called "POP" - I really did know this guy so we said hi and had a wee chat - he was with one of the girls from the band so I shook the guys hand, kissed the girl and gave her a hug… Half way through the 15 minute conversation I realised that the girl he was with wasn't in fact the girl from the band but she was the guys girlfriend who I had never met and there was me kissing and hugging her in the street like I had just discovered a long lost relative at the end of Cilla Black's Surprise Surprise!! How embarrassing!!

I have many more of these embarrassing stories but I will save them for the next time in on The Nightshift!
