With the fantastic weather we’ve been having lately and with summer just around the corner it’s time to invest in a pair of sunglasses. From cheap and cheerful to classic and fashionable, the cost isn’t important as long as they contain UV protection.
Stylist Tori MacKenzie showed three key looks on The Hour to suit any budget and any face shape. She said:
“The most important thing is making sure you get the right frame for your face shape because there’s nothing worse than something you like but it doesn’t suit you. If you’ve got an oval face then you’ve got the most flattering face shape so you can really go for anything.
“Square faces need something round to balance off the shape. Oblong faces are long and narrow so need something a little bit shorter to balance that off, and round faces need square frames.”
First up modelling the sporty look were Christian, who was wearing a pair of £39.99 Gattinoni sunglasses from Sunglass Hut, and Hazel, who had on Ralph Lauren sunglasses for £24.99 from TK Maxx. Tori explained:
“This look is casual but fashionable and it’s very, very popular now.”
Jack and Dionne were working the more formal, classic look. It’s quite hard to get this look right; you don’t want big oversized sunglasses but you don’t want to look too sporty either. Jack had on £70 Ray Ban aviators and Dionne was wearing Matalan tortoiseshell sunglasses for £12.99.
Lastly were Dan and Gemma wearing fashionable sunglasses. Tori said:
“You can go for lots of colours and lots of prints and have fun with this look. It’s quite 60s and vintage inspired as well.”
Dan was wearing black framed Topman sunglasses for £14.99 and Gemma had on natural Primark sunglasses for £2.
