STV presenter Michelle McManus has undergone a sassy hair transformation, ditching her blonde locks for a vibrant red ‘do, to look like her idol Christina Hendricks.
The TV favourite, who hosts teatime lifestyle show The Hour alongside Stephen Jardine, was inspired by the flame-haired Mad Men actress who was recently voted the sexiest woman in the world.
Red hair is one of the hottest looks around just now, and Michelle is just the latest celebrity to have her locks dyed red, with Rihanna and Cheryl Cole also sporting the style just now.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Michelle - who admitted she was “terrified” about going for such a drastic change - explained what it was that made her mind up: “I love Christina Hendricks’s hair colour and I had been wanting to make a change for ages," she said.
“I took a picture of Christina into the salon to show them the colour I wanted to be. I turned 30 this year and I’d been blonde for a while. Red is very autumnal. I absolutely love it. I think it’s here to stay for a good while at least.”
The presenter added: “Some Scots grow up being teased about being ginger. But people always want what they can’t have as now lots of people are paying to have their hair changed to red.”
Michelle's new look is the handiwork of Glasgow-based celebrity snipper Taylor Ferguson, who regularly shares hair tips on The Hour.
