Royal fashion: Lynne McCrossan shows how to wear the Kate Middleton look

Royal bride to be Kate Middleton has stepped out for three official appearances since getting engaged to Prince William in November last year; the engagement announcement, a charity party and a friend’s wedding.

The outfits she wore have flown off the shelves. The Hour’s fashion expert Lynne McCrossan shows us how to recreate the looks with a little imagination.

First up modeling the engagement announcement outfit was Cat. She was wearing a navy LK Bennett dress for £195 and Marks & Spencer navy shoes for £29.50.

“The dress is 100 per cent silk and cinches in at the waist,” Lynne said. “It’s really, really beautiful.”

Next up was Louise wearing the charity party outfit. She had on a black sequin jacket, £30 from John Lewis, and a black and white silk dress for £84 from Damsel in a Dress. The look was finished off with a pair of black Topshop suede shoes for £58.

Last up was Carol-Ann modelling the wedding outfit of a feathered Walter Wright hat for £125 from John Lewis and a black Oasis dress, £55. She also wore a black coat for £129 from Planet and purple Carvella shoes for £85.

Lynne said: “I had the most fun finding this outfit. The little black dress would be great for work and the shoes give a splash of colour. For a Christmas or winter wedding a black outfit hits the mark.”
