Designer fashion is expensive, but if you invest in one key piece, it will last for years and years and can be passed on to your grandchildren. The Hour’s fashion expert Lynne McCrossan is here to show us how to mix designer labels with high street fashion.
First up is Paige modelling a striped jumper for £40 from Topshop and a maxi-striped skirt from Warehouse for £28. The jumper is teamed with a belt to cinch it all in.
To keep it really young and easy to walk in, the outfit is paired with Converse trainers, £37, and a £495 Mulberry handbag finishes off the look:
“The bag is brown leather so will age beautifully,” said Lynne.
Next up is a Halston Heritage dress for £425. The dress can be picked up from Jane Davidson and is 70s inspired. It’s also 100 per cent silk and fully lined.
Lynne said: “When something is designed properly it sucks you in the way that high street can’t, so it’s worth the extra money.”
The dress is paired with studded shoe boots, £15 from Primark.
Last up is Judi wearing a black/gold jumper dress for £39.99 from River Island and Christian Louboutin heels for £625 from Pam Jenkins and larger department stores:
“The shoes are the most expensive thing today but you would wear them religiously,” said Lynne.
Lynne is wearing head-to-toe designer and shows off Christian Louboutin heels and a gold glittery dress worth just shy of £900.
