Fashion Hijack: A day at the races

Vicky Lee, The Hour presenter and irrepressible force of nature, is on a mission.

She has tasked herself with bringing fashion to the masses; to tailor and tidy deserving souls across the length and breadth of this great nation. To prink and preen the people that is her goal consuming.

Appearing, a figure of myth and legend, in the towns and villages, Lee leaves the locals reeling in her wake; her loud laugh lingering in the perfumed wind.

This week she visited her favour upon a truly deserving woman; Jackie Dooley, a married mother-of-two who does wonderful fundraising and volunteer work.

First Vicky’s apparition that left Jackie looking like she had seen a ghost; and with her host’s cobalt coloured locks who could blame her.

Then she was whisked off (after a brief before shot) to be meet the Fashion Hijack’s right-hand man, Chris. There she worked her way through a wardrobe and picked out the perfect outfit.

Afterwards Jackie found herself in the hairdressers in a dream of lights and cameras, make-up artists and scissors. When she finally emerged from the maelstrom she looked as pretty as a picture.

Dressed in a vibrant, patterned dress – a far cry from her former threads - and with her hair shortened and crowned with a little hat her friends and family were brought to tears.

One final surprise: a VIP pass to the Saints and Sinners races. And with that Vicky Lee was gone, her work for the day done.
