If you are looking to beat the bulge this January and are sick of squeezing into your favourite dresses, there are a few quick-fire methods that can help ease you into a healthier shape.
Although the Hollywood stars may be able to pop down to their local surgery for a quick tummy tuck, it’s unlikely any of us will have that sort of cash.
There are however a number of products on the High Street that can, partnered with a healthy diet and regular exercise, help shed inches off your waist, thighs and tummy size.
The Hour’s beauty expert Julie Hannah said: “As your skin gets older it produces collagen and elastan slower than it does when you are younger. So your skin starts to get saggy.
“Anything that stimulates this will help. It doesn’t replace exercise but these products do make your skin appear softer and smoother.”
First up is the Nip + Fab Tummy Fix (100ml, £18.95, Nip + Fab), a cream that promises to slim, tone and tighten the stomach area. It uses active substances such as caffeine and synerphine to break down the liped in fat cells, and is a favourite of Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud.
Julie said: “This product will help hydrate and smooth out your skin. It also has caffeine in it to help draining.”
If you are willing to break the bank a little further and go for a real A-list cream, why not try Rodial Tummy Tuck (£102, 125ml, Boots). This revolutionary formula helps slim and visibly tighten the abdominal area.
Rodial claim the product has been proven to reduce the waist-line by up to 2 centimetres in 8 weeks and tester Louise was equally happy with its merits.
“I do feel like my skin is more toned and that my tummy is flatter, even though I indulged over Christmas!” she said.
Another product worth checking out If a flatter stomach is your goal, is the Body Sculpting Cellulite and Colon Therapy (£74, PURE Spa). This specially designed experience will leave you feeling calm and serene, as well as visually redefining your silhouette.
