Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti performed Mozart violin concerto no. 5, a cadenza written by Nicola herself.
The violin Nicola performed with on the show costs two million pounds and is currently on loan to the star from American banker Jonathan Moulds.
Speaking on The Hour in 2009, the star said of the irreplacable violin: "I got a phone call from Jonathan asking if I wanted to play it - it's the best make that exists. They are horrifically expensive. Most musicians can't afford to buy their own instruments so it is nice that people like Jonathan buy them and have enough interest in music to let us play them."
Nicola's sixth album Italia is due for release on Monday October 8 and focusses on a vibrant selection of both familiar and more unsual works by Vivaldi, Tartin and Veracine.
The 24-year-old performer is no stranger to performing on STV's live magazine show The Hour having already appeared twice before, performing each time. View some of Nicola's best bits of the show below:
