In a special summer feature for The Hour, Lip Service star Heather Peace performed her new song Fight For.
As well as being a talented musician, Heather is an accomplished actress, with her roles including playing Anne Cullen in Emmerdale, Sally Fields in London’s Burning and Josie Clark in The Bill.
Heather has also just finished filming the second series of BBC television show Lip Service, a ground-breaking drama about a group of twenty-something lesbians based in Glasgow, which appeals to people of all sexual orientations.
The new series will be hitting TV screens at the end of this year or early in the spring, and Heather is the only openly gay cast member.
Her first solo album This Is Me was released in 2010 and the songstress embarked on a UK tour earlier this year with special guest Jill Jackson.
Heather will be performing in Edinburgh on August 13 with her new band, where she will be showcasing some of her new songs. Her new album is due out early next year.
The musician is a classically trained pianist and had a jazz residency as a student at popular gay bar Velvet in Manchester.

I love Helen Peace...she's like a breathe of fresh air. I thought she was brill in 'Lip Service' and I can't wait to see her again in series 2.
She's multitalented and I really like it when she sings her own songs.(As well as being good on the eye!).
I'm off to see her perform at Manchester Pride later today. I'm going early cos it'll be packed out.
I only hope she books some bigger venues for her next tour and her dad keeps driving the tour bus.
Peace n lovexxxxxxxxx
