Acoustic songsmith Benjamin Francis Leftwich has been the talk of the radio in recent months with Jo Whiley, Dermot O’Leary, Zane Lowe and Greg James all pouring their support behind him. Tonight he joined The Hour to perform his new single, Box of Stones.
The track follows on from his critically acclaimed EP A Million Miles Out, while led to his performance at Jo Whiley’s Little Noise Sessions at the Union Chapel. His track Atlas Hands was also named as one of Whiley’s tracks of 2010.
Further accolades were heaped on Leftwich following the release of second EP Pictures. Zane Lowe named the title track the Hottest Record In The World and it also became DJ Greg James’ Record Of The Week.
This April he filled Noah & The Whale’s support slot on their UK tour and he will shortly be performing at a number of festivals, including the Camden Crawl, Dot-To-Dot, Bestival and Glastonbury.
His own headline tour starts this month with dates across the UK and Ireland.
Box of Stones is available now. Benjamin Francis Leftwich’s debut album Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm is due for release on July 4. See his website for more details.
