Scotland’s husband and wife duo Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh go back to basics with their new album The Great Lakes.
Singing Bluebell Wood, the song showcases a move away from a sound they are so famous for making within multi-million selling Scottish group, Deacon Blue toward a more simple kind of music which they have grown to love.
“It is a celebration of simplicity,” Ricky explains.
“It is a different sound but it is more in keeping with the kind of music we listen to now rather than what we were listening to 10-15 years ago,” Lorraine adds.
“We are taken out a whole band of very good musicians but it is to smaller places,” she explains. “It is going to be quite intimate and it is going to be exciting, we are excited about it.”
McIntosh Ross will be performing songs from their new album in a tour around Scotland later this year.
