Classical music act Raven popped in to perform their track Gabriel’s Oboe exclusively for The Hour, as they prepare to hit the studio to record their new album.
Stephanie Benedetti, Kirsty Mangan, Natalie Holt and Rachael Lander formed the band in 2007 and they are now starting to make their mark, having got together after years of working on their own in various orchestras.
They pride themselves on performing classical music with a twist, with each piece they perform specially re-arranged for their use.
The girls have come to prominence of late, having performed alongside The Last Shadow Puppets as part of the London Metropolitan Orchestra.
Individually, they have all freelanced and have performed and recorded with artists such as Jools Holland, Leona Lewis and Gwen Stefani.
Stephanie is the older sister of another musical success - Nicola Benedetti - a fellow violinist who was named the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2004.
