He can tell what you’re thinking but he isn’t a mind-reader. He can bend spoons and yet he’s not a magician. Drew McAdam is an entertainer first and foremost and his unique talent of squeezing the most out of our brains is drawing the attention of some of the countries biggest business minds.
The Scots act has made a name out of his enjoyable and fascinating stage performances where he invites audience members onto the stage and teaches them how to utilise the power of their brains. This takes place using a range of exercises including looking at a range of random objects before being turned around and asked to recall what these object were.
Using methods such as link-thinking (linking objects with more memorable items) and the powers of persuasion Drew believes the human mind can do almost anything if it breaks down its barriers.
Now the top business brains of Scotland are queuing up to invite Drew into their offices and teach their staff how to unleash their mind's potential and read others' thoughts by simply observing their movements.
Speaking to The Hour, Drew explains how sales-people can be one step ahead in business using his easy method of reading ‘micro-expressions’.
He said: “I originally started out doing after-dinner speaking but so many companies have been asking me to teach their salesmen and negotiators how to read body language.
"I don’t really read minds; I read people’s body language, their micro-expressions and their non-verbal communications.
"That can be very handy for someone in sales. Imagine for a second someone says they don’t want to buy a particular product because they have no money. You can often tell from their micro-expressions that isn’t their real objection.”
Drew’s revolutionary thought-control tactics have taken him around the world and the Scottish entertainer is just back from performing in St. Petersburg, Russia. Reviews from his after dinner speeches and stage-shows continue to be positive and he remains one of the countries top mind-coaches.
His success story is the perfect instance of someone breaking down the barriers of impossibility, a core value that Drew teaches at his shows. He believes that one of human kind’s biggest flaws in life is our inability to break down the barriers between what’s possible and what’s not.
He added: “I often explain during my seminars that too many of us think something is impossible when it isn’t. That’s something that really weakens the way we think.”
