David Hayman performs for Spirit Aid

Actor David Hayman and his friends have organised a one-off comedy night extravaganza at the O2 Academy in Glasgow.

The line-up of comedians includes Des McLean, Tam Cowan, Des Clarke and Fred MacAulay and all funds raised will go to David’s charity, Spirit Aid.

Spirit Aid is a humanitarian relief organisation dedicated to alleviating the suffering of children and young people whose lives have been devastated by war, poverty, genocide, ethnic cleansing and all forms of abuse.

It is a completely volunteer organisation set up to support children and young people around the world by running humanitarian projects in places like Kosovo, Guinea Bissau, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Scotland.

David is doing a special one-off stand-up performance at the comedy night. He has never done stand-up before and he is utterly terrified. The actor had a masterclass lesson with three comedians to get some advice and top tips on how to perfect his gags.

David said: “The three comics are going to put me through my paces and hopefully make me funny!”

A Summer Comedy Gala will be on at the O2 Academy in Glasgow on August 29 at 7pm.
