Keith Jack’s behind you in Aladdin panto!

Musical star Keith Jack is back on stage doing what he does best, in the Christmas pantomime Aladdin, at Glasgow’s King’s Theatre.

This is the musical star’s second year performing in the festive last show, following his debut as Peter Pan in Aberdeen last year, and he admitted that he’s a big fan of the fun-filled shows. He said: “It’s a lot of fun it’s a bit more relaxed than doing a normal musical and the audiences are always great when they’re shouting at the baddies, and cheering you on as the goody…”

He added: “It’s tough but it’s a lot of fun as well. you do get very tired, especially when you have 10.30am shows but the kids and the audiencess keep you going, and we keep it fresh,  we tweak things different nights and maybe throw in a wee joke or something…”

Performing alongside pantomime pros such as Gerard Kelly and Karen Dunbar, Keith is taking on the lead role as cheeky chappie Aladdin, in the production.

And he admitted that it’s a huge bonus to be working alongside such experienced actors who can give him tips and pointers on his performances.

He said: Gerard always comes up and if I’m saying ‘does that scene look alright’ he’ll come up and give me some advice, Karen as well. You just try and get as much advice from these kind of people as you can.”

Aladdin is on at the King’s Theatre until January 17. Find out more about the shows and how to book tickets here.
