TV personality Gail Porter explained how she began working the Teenage Cancer Trust after losing her mother to the disease and knowing people still suffering with cancer.
“I just lost my mum to cancer this year…but my mum's much older and you suddenly start thinking about how awful it must be for younger people to go through this,” said Porter.
The trust has launched a new campaign to build more cancer units for teenagers in Scottish hospitals and Gail has worked closely with the drive.
The TV presenter agreed to appear in a short film, along with other familiar faces including comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli and rock band The View, aimed at getting teenagers out and raising money for the appeal.
“Basically what we are trying to do is get teenagers in Scotland to do anything to raise £50 each,” explained Porter.
“It gives them all the kind of things to have as normal a life as possible and to facilitate their parents as well,” she added.
