Blair Drummond pony named by Louisa Gavin from Glasgow

Here at The Hour we’ve long been fans of our animal friends. So when the staff at Blair Drummond Safari Park asked us to find a name for one of their ponies we were quick to offer our help.

Appealing to the nation, we asked you to send in your suggestions for the four-week-old foal, who keepers described as friendly and cheeky. After and plenty of suggestions, and much deliberation, the Blair Drummond staff have chosen their favourite.

The name “Ziggy” was suggested by five-year-old Louisa Gavin from Glasgow, and the staff at the Safari Park thought that name perfectly fitted the baby pony’s character.

As a thank you to Louisa, she and her family will now be invited to meet Ziggy in person, to find out what he thinks of his new name.

Also on offer at the Safari Park are birds, deer and even tigers, so there’s plenty for all the family to see.

Well done Louisa!
