Dogs are renowned for their ability to impersonate their owner’s actions, but copying their fashion style has always proven to be one paw too far…until now.

Pyjamas for pets is the latest craze that allows dog owners to dress their loved ones up in everything from pirate suits to dressing gowns. What’s more, the PJ’s will provide a bit of extra warmth as the cold winter nights draw in.

Clyde One's DJ Dingo picked out some of the best canine nightwear on the market and called upon some furry friends to show them off.

First up was Hank who was sporting Pirate Pyjamas from Hamish McBeth (£18.99). But did they float his boat?

Speaking to The Hour, Dingo said: “He's a big fella isn’t he? Just a really nice big dog. Look at him with the little skull and crossbow on the back, look how cool he looks.

“Sleek, stylish, he looks buff and in control. It’s going to keep him nice and warm although he does come with his own fur jacket.

“Id love to wear that but I promised I wouldn’t.”

For the smaller, perhaps more reserved, pooch there is the Baby Blue Pyjamas from UrbanPup.com (£16.65) as modelled by Digby.

Dingo said: “It’s like lycra. He looks like he should be riding a bike. Digby looks like he is about to play tennis.”

Finally, we have the ultimate in dog nightwear; the Flower Dog Dressing Gown from Doggie Style Store (£6.99). This isn’t for any old mutt and will suit both male and female dogs, as model Charlie proves. The Dressing Gown is truly the pinnacle of dog fashion.

“It’s like a smoking jacket," said Dingo. “All he needs is a pipe and slippers to complete the look. True luxury.”
