The Hour love re-homing unlucky animals, but face their biggest challenge yet with sister act Sasha and Honey. These cross breeds are looking for someone to take them both in, and Adam Downs of the SSPCA joined the show to explain a little bit more.
He said: “They’ve been together for at least eight years. The owner was unwell and unfortunately wasn’t able to care for the animals any more which is why they’ve come to us and we are desperately seeking a home for them together.”
Eight-year-old Sasha loves nothing more than long walks and lounging on the couch.
Sister Honey is not quite so active. At 14, she’s an older dog with slightly failing eyesight and a special dietary requirement because of a throat operation. Despite this, she’s a young 14 with plenty of energy left.
She also has Sasha to look after her in her twilight years.
Both dogs are house trained and ideally the SSPCA would be looking for a home with older children, or someone living alone, who has enough time to give the girls the exercise they require.
Adam added: “Taking on a dog of any age is a life long commitment. Whether it’s a puppy or whether it’s a 14-year-old dog, you’re there to see out the rest of the animal’s days.
“We’d ask you to come along. Fill out a pre-homing questionnaire, lets us know about what you’re looking for. What we’d say is don’t go out on impulse because you’ve seen the dogs on the show tonight. We want a genuine person who’s been looking for a companion for a while.”
If you think you would make a suitable owner to these two beautiful cross breeds, please contact the Scottish SPCA through their website.
