The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home (EDCH) was founded in 1883 and has been caring for lost and abandoned dogs and cats ever since. The charity tries to find new and loving homes for all the animals and aims to show that pet ownership is one of the most rewarding things that you can do.
Collie cross Willow is four years old and arrived at the EDCH in December last year. The loveable pooch is longing to find a loving family to adopt her. David Ewing, who works at the Home, told The Hour:
“Willow was picked up on the outskirts of Edinburgh, and unfortunately she had a nasty infection that developed into pneumonia. It was touch and go for a while whether she’d pull through but our vets did a lot of very hard work with her and we now have a fairly fit and healthy dog and one that’s desperate to find a new home.”
Willow was a stray and the Home don’t know who her owner was, but there were no signs that she was mistreated. She’s an extremely placid dog and gets on well with people and with other animals.
She would be a great companion for someone living on their own and she’d get on well in a family with children. Willow is well disciplined and has no aggression in her at all. David said:
“This little dog ticks most of the boxes for just about everybody. She’s not funny with other dogs or with strangers at all.”
