Just when we thought Pet of the Week couldn’t get anymore intense, a shock choice rippled the competition to the core. For the first time since the contest started, a rabbit sat pride of place as POTW winner. Shocking indeed, but would does this week hold in store.
Could the Rabbits hold the crown? Or would a cunning cat or the rascal rat (Stephen Jardine’s favourite) take the coveted Pet of the Week title? It was in fact, to be neither, as a Winston the West Highland Terrier jumped out and grabbed the attention of celebrity judges Armstrong and Miller.
At just nine-weeks old Winston is just a pup, and owner Alish from Bishopbriggs thought a picture of her darling dog would liven up The Hour sofa. How right she was, as Winston now sits proud of place in the specially produced Pet of the Week frame.
With Irish boy band Westlife popping into the studios next week the competition is sure to hot up, and you can make sure your pet is seen beside Shane, Mark and co. during next weeks show by e-mailing thehour@stv.tv with a picture and some info on your pet.
