Race to Witch Mountain star Dwayne Johnson says he needs to come over to Scotland - for its ice cream.
Johnson works with Glaswegian agent Darren Statt, and has been tempted to come over to Scotland by Statt and his family many a time.
“I have not been to Scotland yet,” he admitted. “I need to go, and Darren always tells me, and his family do too. Apparently they’ve got the greatest ice cream.”
Race to Witch Mountain is a big-budget remake of two fondly remembered Disney movies, Return from Witch Mountain and Escape to Witch Mountain.
The plot’s about a couple of teenage alien kids with telekinetic powers who are a mission to earth to save this planet and their own.
However, they need the help of a grown-up, and Johnson is the perfect family-friendly leading man who picks them up in a taxi, and quickly realises they’re not your average teenagers.
“When I was younger I enjoyed the action of it,” Johnson revealed when quizzed about the original movies. “Also, it was one of those movies that was pretty scary to kids.”
In keeping with the movie’s theme, the former wrestling star doesn’t discount the possibility of life “out there”.
“I am 100% a believer in aliens. I was a believer before the movie, I’m a bit believer now and to be honest with you, there was a moment where I thought I saw an alien, I had an alien encounter,” Johnson said. “But then I was drunk, I realised I was drunk...”
