Easter crafts for the whole family

Keeping the kids occupied over the long Easter break can be challenging at the best of times. The Hour is at hand with some great activities and ideas to keep boredom at bay.

Today, craft expert Rachel Henderson takes some household objects and turns them into cute little Easter bunny gifts. It’s ideal way to spend a rainy afternoon with the kids transforming some odd socks or gloves into some fantastic new cuddly friends.

What you will need:

• An old glove/sock
• A sewing needle and thread
• Glue
• A pair of scissors
• 2 x buttons
• A piece of ribbon
• Some wool and 2 x small circular pieces of card for making pom-pom
• Some toy stuffing or cotton wool

Method:

  1. If you are using a sock, first of all cut down to the heel. Then ,  overstitch the slit to make ears.
  2. If using a glove  then  poke the thumb, index and pinkie finger of the glove inwards, leaving the two remaining fingers outwards.
  3. Next, use the stuffing to fill the contents right into the fingers. Ensure the stuffing is evenly spread through the sock/glove.
  4. Once the item is stuffed, use colour buttons for the eyes by using glue stick them on.
  5. To make a pom pom tail ,   get some wool and   a circular pieces of card . Thread the wool around  and  through the hole and  then through the outside of the card until completely covered. Cut through the wool and tie together to make a pom pom.
  6. Sew the pom pom tail onto the bunny (ask an adult to help.
  7. For a finishing touch use a piece of ribbon to create a stunning look.
