With only a few more weeks left of summer it’s essential that the opportunistic garden-owner make the most of the sun, but what garden would be complete without the latest high-tech kit. Gadget expert Colin Kelly joined The Hour to reveal some of the best toys on the market.
He said: “People think, how can I brighten up my garden? And I have found some products - some for kids, some for adults. It’ll be the most exciting garden you have ever heard about.”
To kick off the summer fun, the Wildsling Water Bomb Launcher could be just the thing. At £11.95 from Prezzybox.com, this gadget for the over 18s isn’t too expensive but can launch a water bomb a distance of over 120 feet. Just don’t fire it at anyone.
Freeline Grom Skates from FreeLineSkates.com cost £62 and are a great introduction to outdoor skating. Light-weight and low to the ground, they turn easily and also come with an optional training wheel.
For the slightly less active garden gadget man, the Bee Station could be the ideal hobby this summer. Bees are close to becoming an endangered species, but now you can help with the Bee Station for just £39.99 from BeeStation.com.
This contraption gives them a refuelling site during the summer and a safe, dry nesting habitat for the winter.
Even more relaxing is the Flux Chair, costing £129 from FluxChairs.com. This garden seat transforms from a flat package with a handle into a fully upright chair, so is perfect for taking to the picnic.
For the ultimate garden party, the Stainless Steel Electric Drinks Cooler from TheDesignerBox.com costs £339. Whether it’s beaming sunshine or pouring rain, you will at least be sure that your beverage is still ice cold.
Finally, the Gelli Baff Pool from ThumsUp.com puts a gooey new twist on the traditional paddling pool. Simply inflate the pool and fill it with gungey Gelli Baff.
