The Hour returns this Saturday for a day at the races with two of STV’s favourite faces, Michelle McManus and John MacKay, in a special live one-off show.
The programme will be broadcast live on August 20 at 3pm, bringing viewers all the colour and excitement from the Perth Racecourse Charities Race Day, which is being held in support of The Prince’s Charities in Scotland.
Highlights on the day will include racing tips from none other than First Minister Alex Salmond, as well as a visit to trainers Lucinda Russell and Peter Scudamore's stables to meet some of the star horses of the day.
John and Michelle will also be joined by some of The Hour’s top experts including chef Eadie Manson who will be whipping up delicious dishes, cocktail guru Andy Gemmell who will demonstrate how to make creative cocktails, and fashion guru Tori MacKenzie, on hand to share her race day fashion tips.
The prestigious event will also play host to very special guests Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Rothesay - and The Hour will be on hand to capture all the top events of the day.
John MacKay said: “I’m really looking forward to joining The Hour team for what I think will be a brilliant day at the races, and I hope viewers tune in to join us.”
He added: “I’m not a gambling man but I might be tempted to take a few tips from the First Minister!”
Following a summer break, The Hour will burst back onto TV screens in a brand new weekly primetime slot, with a revamped set and a fantastic line-up of live guests and features, as well as special online events and features.
The Hour Goes to the Races is on STV on Saturday 20 August at 3pm. Watch it on the STV Player now.
