STV’s New Year New You campaign may have come to an end but that’s no reason to hang up those trainers just yet. The Scottish Rockettes cheerleading squad are urging everyone to sign up to the NSPCC’s Aerobathon event to raise some vital funds for the charity.
As well as providing the encouragement to get started, the Rockettes will continue to cheer on participants throughout the session, which involves a number of aerobic workouts including Zumba, the latest craze to grip the nation.
Rockettes squad manager Carole Anne Deeney said: “We are delighted to be kicking off proceedings at the Aerobathon. It will be a fun way for participants to raise vital funds for the NSPCC, and we’ll be there to cheer them on every step of the way.”
The workout will be held at the Arc, Glasgow Caledonian University’s sport centre, from 11am to 1pm on Sunday, February, 20, with the dance team providing the warm up.
The NSPCC’s mission is to end child cruelty in the UK, but if you can’t get involved in Glasgow that doesn’t mean you can’t make a difference. Other Aerobathon events will also be taking place across Scotland, this Sunday, at Heriot Watt University Centre for Sport in Edinburgh, Grove Swim and Sport in Dundee and Aberdeen Sports Village.
For more details or to sign up contact the NSPCC Scotland fundraising team on 0844 892 0212 or visit the Aerobathon web page on www.nspcc.org.uk/aerobathon. More on the Rockettes.
