Photographer Martin Shields has this month been encouraging viewers of The Hour to send in their favourite holiday photos, and this week will be picking his favourites. Until then, here are some of the best we’ve been sent so far.
Some viewers used the setting sun to frame their pictures, resulting in a series of striking summer silhouettes. Bob Keltie of Bo’Ness sent in a stunning picture of a bridge in twilight, while Helen Smith of Laurenkirk’s image depicts sunset over a lake.
Gordon from Inverness also sent in a picture of sunset, creating a great silhouette of a bird looking out to sea.
Sticking with the animal theme, Alex Russell from Aberdeen sent a picture of his handsome pooch chilling out on the beach, while Joan Mitchell from Forfar took a snap of some summer pony trekkers. A more unusual snap by George Crawford of West Kilbride shows a teddy bear looking out a plane window.
George also sent in a shot of a brightly painted summer promenade.
For fun and frolics in the sun, Senga Donnelly of Saltcoats took a shot of a man performing a back flip into the sea, while Paulie Docherty’s shot of a man lounging in a pool is slightly more relaxing.
Elaine Wright from Fife took a photo of a girl buried in the sand, and Beth Reilly from Dundee took one of kids playing in the sea. Finally, Gail Wright from Grangemouth took an adventurous shot of some kids being pulled by a boat.
Martin will be choosing his favourites this Friday, but until then keeping sending your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org or send them by text to 81441, with "Holiday Snaps" in the subject line.
