Something For The Weekend – July 1-3

The Hour is finished for the week, and if you’re at a loose end and looking for something to do over the next couple of days, fear not.

Whether it’s a jumble sale, church fete, concert or a family day out, here’s Something For The Weekend to keep the boredom at bay.

If music and dancing is your thing get yourself along to Falkirk Town Hall on Friday July 1 or Saturday July 2 to see Billy Elliot: The Musical. Performed by the Sunderland Empire Theatre group in association with Billy Youth Theatre, the magical musical is sure to get you on your feet and singing along to all the top tunes.

Fun for all the family, the musical kicks off at 7.30pm both nights and tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for concessions.

Another family event is the Loch Lomond Highland Games. The day starts at 11am on Saturday July 2 at Luss and there will be lots of fun to get involved in and plenty of local crafts and food.

Tickets cost £6 per adult and £3 for children and OAPs, with family tickets available from £14.

For all the dance lovers out there, head along to the Beach Ballroom at the Beach Promenade in Aberdeen on Saturday July 2 for ‘Let’s Dance’. Strictly Come Dancing’s Robin Windsor and Kristina Rihannoff will be making special guest appearances and a percentage of all funds raised will go towards the fight against cancer.

Doors open at 7.30pm and everyone is welcome, with tickets costing £37.50 per person.
