The sun is (finally) out and what better way to spend this weekend than at one of a number of fantastic events taking place up and down the country.
In Edinburgh, The Royal Highland Centre plays host to this year’s Gardening Scotland event (Friday 3 – Sunday 5 June). Showcasing some of the countries finest gardeners and a fabulous array of flowers and plants, this event is not to be missed for the green-fingered amongst you. There will be a chance to purchase seeds and bulbs and the 1st Scots soldiers will also be in attendance, so make sure to bring your camera. Entry fee is £14 and children go free, gates open at 10am Saturday and Sunday.
For those in the west, the St Andrews & St Brides High School are holding a family funday on Saturday June 4 at the school from noon until 2.30pm. There will be bouncy castles, a wet sponge stall and beat the goalie for the kids, while parents can enjoy a range of stalls and tombolas. Entrance is free, so why not pop along and support the children.
If thrills and spills are what you need, Grampian Transport Museum in Alford, Aberdeenshire is hosting the annual Speedfest event. Some of the most beautiful super-cars from around the globe will be on show, including the world’s first electric super car, the Telsa Roadster. Doors open at 11am, family tickets are £19, Adults £9, Senior Citizens £6 and children just £3.
