Haggis Dogs, the new Scottish delicacy

Scottish entrepreneur, Mark Shaw runs his own successful business, Haggis-n-Neeps; which is the first UK outdoor seller of Scotland’s national dish. He recently came up with the idea of a portable way to eat his favourite dish Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.

The Haggis Dog is a unique blend of haggis and pork sausage meat; this can be accompanied with Mark’s turnip chutney, aptly named ‘Chutneep’.

Shaw came up with the idea when he was living in France and asked to through a Scottish party. He decided to put Haggis on the menu and his party guests loved it so much so Mark came up with the takeaway alternative.

Launched at the International Piping Live! Festival in Glasgow, the tasty treat proved a huge success. Since then, Mark has seen the reaction to the Haggis Dogs as extremely positive.

“It’s been absolutely fantastic, like I say, for the last few weeks I’ve sold a couple of hundred a week.”

The Haggis Dog is on sale at many festivals and outdoor events up and down the country.

With plans to launch the fast food snack in cinemas, football stadiums and various pubs throughout the UK, Mark looks set to conquer the UK food market.

So, will Mark’s Haggis Dogs catch on? Well, there’s only one thing for sure, go easy on the mustard.
