Lorraine Kelly examines unsolved disappearances

Presented by TV favourite Lorraine Kelly, Scotland’s Missing Mums tells the emotional real-life stories of six families who have been torn apart by a mother’s abandonment or sudden disappearance, and who are still searching for their loved one many years later.

Over three hour-long episodes, the stories of missing mothers are told through dramatic reconstructions and moving interviews with family members and friends. Lorraine examines the events leading up to the unexplained disappearance or abandonment, and looks at the emotional effect it has had on those left behind, who often find it impossible to move on and find closure.

With the help of experts, including police officers, journalists and missing person’s charities, Lorraine investigates the issues surrounding these puzzling, unsolved cases, appealing for viewers to get in touch with any information that could help the families in their search.

Lorraine Kelly says of the show: “This series tells the truly heart-breaking stories of mothers who have mysteriously disappeared into thin air.

"I hope that by delving deeper into the unsolved cases and examining the events surrounding each woman’s disappearances, we might trigger the memory of some viewers, and help these families shed some light on what really happened to their loved ones.”
