At the end of series two, the team lost the very dashing Stephen Hart, how are they coping now?
It was the first big blow for them. Nothing like that has happened since the team have been together. I think the reality of what they are involved in has come home to roost. So even though it might come across like we are just getting on with the job, losing Stephen was a big loss for the team. However, our reality is that we can’t stop and deal with our feelings. The show needs to keep moving forward so there is no time for therapy.
Abby and Connor: the big romance, and the big question is, are they ever going to kiss?
Ha. I’m not going to say, but let’s just say the relationship is tested. Abby’s brother Jack comes back into her life, and he is someone she has never mentioned before. Connor can’t understand it and really doesn’t take to him. Initially it’s because he’s jealous, but later because he realises that Jack doesn’t take after his sister and is bad news. His arrival has a huge impact on her and Connor’s relationship and the safety of the team as a whole. Abby makes some very interesting choices in this series, and not all of them good perhaps, but for her, they are absolutely the right ones.
Fans are going to be treated to some really big action sequences in the series. How much fun have you had filming them?
Oh loads. It’s been exhausting but brilliant fun. Episode four was fun fun fun! It was one of the best days; the sun was shining, I was driving around in a Mini Cooper S very fast. That coupled together makes a good day for Hannah. Abby drove a Mini in the last series but she’s been upgraded to a Cooper S in this one. I was able to open her up on the track although I burnt out the clutch so probably took it a bit too far.
Are you a bit of a petrol head?
Not really but driving is one of my loves. I’m in no way a petrol head although I am more so than Andrew, put it that way. I’m usually the designated driver and we’re both comfortable with that.
And in addition to the new car, you’ve got a host of new toys and gadgets including some rather terrifying flame throwers. What was it like using those things, they look pretty full on?
It was awesome. Any new equipment is always taken in good grace and very well received. Let’s face it any new toys to play with are always going to go down well on a set like ours which has loads of boys around. They do love a new toy and that is especially the case with Jason who was clearly in his element. Lucy and I had a laugh too. There were a lot of cameras out that day as it’s not often you get to be all Tomb Raider with a flame thrower.
