Insiders have revealed that the sci-fi drama show Primeval could soon spawn a spin-off series.
A report in Digital Spy claimed that Jonathan Drake and Tim Haines, of Primeval's production company Impossible Pictures, have begun work on a new project.
It is thought that the spin-off show would investigate the mythology of Primeval and would possibly be made for a US television network.
The show recently hit the headlines when it was confirmed that Primeval is going to be made into a big-budget Hollywood movie.
Impossible Pictures have reportedly signed a large six-figure rights deal which will see Warner Bros bring the dinosaur drama to the silver screen.
A recent report in Variety has claimed that Akiva Goldman, who scripted Angels and Demons, and Kerry Foster will produce the movie.
Foster said: "There is a solid mythology to the series, but the movie has the dinosaur element of Jurassic Park and the time travel element of Lost, and it just feels like the kind of big movie that Warner does well."
