Popstar To Operastar champion Joe McElderry has confessed that he is "glad to be out of the X Factor machine".
The Geordie lad admitted that he is relieved to have been offered a new record deal with the Universal label, having being dropped earlier this year by Simon Cowell's Syco records.
Joe told the Daily Star that his new album would not be an opera album and would probably come out on the Decca label.
He said: "I'm so happy to be releasing another album.
"I can't really talk about it yet but it's going to be pop not opera.
"And it will be more ballads and grown up that my first album."
However, it is believed that he has recorded a version of the Pavarotti classic Nessun Dorma.
Joe added: "To be honest I'm glad to be out of the X Factor machine."
