Kevin Kennedy has announced that he is in talks to return to Corrie. The actor played Curly Watts in the soap for 20 years before leaving in 2003.
The 48-year-old star has claimed that producers of the programme want him to make a temporary appearance for the show's 50th anniversary celebrations in 2010.
Kevin has suggested that a number of other former cast members have been approached to make a return to Weatherfield.
He told the Evening Herald: "I have actually discussed it with them and I'm hoping it will happen next year.
"They're hoping to bring back a lot of old faces. But at the moment, who knows?"
He added: "I would be absolutely delighted to walk down those cobblestone streets again.
"I'm very proud of what I've done, there's over 20 years of work there and I think all of it is a good standard."
A Coronation Street spokesperson told Digital Spy: "There are many, many plans for the 50th anniversary, but it's too early to finalise anything at this stage."
