Piers Morgan has said that his interview with X Factor judge Dannii Minogue could be "life-changing" for the singer. The Britain's Got Talent judge quizzed the star for his Life Stories chat show.
During the episode Minogue reflected on her early life in the spotlight, her relationship with sister Kylie and troubles settling in as an X Factor judge.
Dannii described her emotions upon arriving home after being told of her sister's diagnosis of breast cancer.
She said: "All I wanted to do was get inside the door of the family home and see my gorgeous sister and hug her."
Piers told the Mail on Sunday: "The interview with Dannii was one of the most emotional I've ever done.
"I defy anyone watching her cry over her failed marriage and sister Kylie's cancer not to feel huge empathy with this supposedly ice-cold X Factor judge."
He added: "We hugged afterwards in her dressing room and drank some champagne, and she was still a little tearful."
Explaining what happened days after the interview, Piers said: "Dannii texted me: 'Thank you for the opportunity you gave me to be me. I will never forget that you're one of the few people to ever give me that chance.
"I'm sure that this interview will actually be life-changing for me'. I think it will, too."
