JLS back Olly Murs to win The X Factor

X Factor 2008 runners-up JLS have backed Olly Murs to win this year's X Factor. The boyband lost out to Alexandra Burke in last year's final.

The group consists of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan Gill, and Oritsé Williams.

The band appeared on the X Factor results show this weekend along with US legends Bon Jovi.

Olly told them back stage: "I am so envious of you guys. You're living the dream."

Aston Merrygold admitted that he hoped that Olly would make it all the way to the final, says The Daily Star.

He said: "Don't worry. You'll be doing this when you leave X Factor."

JLS are not Olly's only celebrity fan, Robbie Williams and Murs are said to have become close pals.

The pair met when the singer appeared on the show as a guest mentor.

A friend of Olly's, Jon Goodey, has said that the pair often talk and has revealed that they will probably remain in touch after the show.

Goodey told Now! magazine: "They text and call each other all the time.

"Even if Olly doesn't win the show, he knows he's got a good friend in Robbie now."

He added: "Robbie's got a real soft spot for Olly because he can see himself in him.

"They're very similar. They're both great showmen, but also quite insecure behind closed doors."
