Tonight stv’s weatherman Sean Batty will be brightening up Cumbernauld as he hosts Scotland’s biggest Zumba ® Fitness event live from 6.30pm.
We’ve been asking stv viewers where they will be taking part and it turns out the answer is just about everywhere! So why not get your friends and family round and join in the fun, send us your photos and videos.
Susan Proudfoot, Bernadette Walker, Carolanne Haffie, Ally Anderson, Karen Fulton, Nancy McDuff, Kazzy McArthur and Emma Leishmann are all keen Zumba® Fitness followers and are excited to be taking part as will the website GoGoGlasgow.
On Twitter, @rdotsidney, @Leeeesa123, @wardys and @Jinks67 all want to get involved, although @Jinks67 might be a bit worried about a lack of coordination. If that sounds like you don’t panic, Zumba® Fitness is for everyone.
Meanwhile Cameron McKenna from STV’s The Nightshift will also be taking part as will some of the Five Minutes to Change Your Life volunteers that we have seen on The Hour over the past few weeks.
Sean is taking part in the New Year New You campaign and has resolved to get fit, so tonight he will join Zumba ® Fitness instructor Donna Giffen for a live class at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld, which will be streamed on our website.
The class will mark the grand finale of STV’s New Year New You campaign and we want you to log on to stv.tv/newyearnewyou and dance along.
STV weatherman Sean Batty said: "I have to confess that I’ve not taken part in a Zumba ® class before, but I have been practicing my moves with Donna Giffen’s online tutorials on the STV website.
"The beauty of the Zumba ® program, is that there is no right of wrong way to move and you can add your own flavour to the steps, meaning that it is suitable for novices and seasoned pro dancers alike."
Scotland: A Zumba® Fitness Nation will be screened live on stv.tv/newyearnewyou from 6.30pm tonight after the 6 o’clock news.
In the meantime, you can get ready for the big event by rehearsing with Donna's video guides on the New Year New You website. Today’s new move is the reggaeton vibrate hip, so channel your inner Shakira and give it a go!
Please note that the Zumba ® class taking place at Broadwood Stadium tonight is now full.
We want you to log on and take part. We would also encourage you to take pictures, videos and send in emails to getfit@stv.tv telling us how you took part – you could be the star of stv.tv/newyearnewyou tomorrow.
