If you have already earmarked 2011 as your year for getting fit and toned, the core ball dumb-bell lift is the perfect exercise to get you started.
The Core Ball is a great addition to any fitness suite or indoor gym, and is perfect for home exercise. They can be picked up from most fitness stores and can even be found at your local supermarket.
One of the best ways to use your ball for toning is a dumb-bell lift. Now for this you will require two medium sized weights (not too heavy) or bottles if you haven’t any dumb-bells.
The Hour’s fitness guru Stella Bartram recommends the exercise as one of the most effective at working out your core muscle areas.
Remember to keep your knees on the floor with your toes resting against the floor, before steadily raise the plate up against your chest.
Stella says: “One of the great things about the ball is that it keeps you in the right position and keeps your tummy tight. Three sets of 12 reps should do the trick.”
