Shannon Shiell is the director of the Academia de Salsa, which she founded some 15 years ago. Her vocation and passion for Salsa originally started as a hobby while she completed her Latin American studies at Glasgow University.

Nowadays, Shannon is a full time promoter of Salsa and the Scottish Salsa scene, organising Salsa nights in popular Glasgow venues such as Classic Grand  and Barca.

Shannon learned her first salsa moves in Colombia and regularly visits Cuba to pick up all the latest moves, which she teaches around the country and internationally.

In the episode of Make Me Happier which focuses on low self-esteem, insomnia and anger, Sharon will show Jason how dancing can improve his health, social skills and give his confidence a boost.
