Marco Pierre White's Ramsay anger

Marco Pierre White says Gordon Ramsay was "nervous as hell" when they filmed a fishing scene for a TV show.

The 'Hell's Kitchen' star - who no longer talks to Gordon - was irritated when the fiery chef told a TV crew they often went fishing together, so decided to play a joke on him on camera.

Marco explained to Britain's Live! magazine: "Gordon was making that TV series 'Boiling Point' and he called me up and said, 'I've told the producers that on my day off I go pike fishing with you.' I said, 'Gordon, that's not true.' And he said, 'I know, but they don't know that.'

"So we went fishing and Gordon couldn't tackle up, so I had to do it for him. I knew that the pool was 8ft deep, so to amuse myself I set Gordon's bait at 8ft, which meant it would end up in the weeds at the bottom.

"An hour later, I'd caught ten fish and he'd caught zero. He ended up as the net boy and they filmed him wading through the water, nervous as hell."

Marco is a keen angler, and can still remember the feeling he had when he caught his first fish.

He explained: "One day there was a teachers' strike and we had the day off school. I caught my first fish, a brown trout. I fell in love with fishing there and then. Me and my mate Briggsy used to go fishing, catch 30 or 40 trout, then on our way home we'd knock on doors and sell them."
