Nick Hancock presents Taste the Nation, a new cookery contest that pits county against county as amateur cooks battle it out to win the Taste the Nation cup for their county.
Each county team is led by a celebrity chef who manages and mentors a team of four contestants; three of these will be chosen to be in the first cook-off whilst the remaining one will compete in one of the later rounds. With the responsibility of representing their counties, emotions run high as the contestants do battle against their rivals.
The chefs taking part are Antony Worrall Thompson, John Burton Race, Ed Baines, Rosemary Shrager, Nick Nairn, Merilees Parker, Martin Blunos and Graham Tinsley.
Taste the Nation also showcases the very best of regional ingredients as the teams take inspiration from their regions recipes and traditions.
The inter-county rivalry turns up the heat for the contestants, as the pressure builds to serve up the best dishes in order to make their county the culinary capital.
A panel of judges will decide which teams have stepped up to the mark and deserve to cook on to the final rounds. The judges are William Sitwell, editor of Waitrose Food Illustrated, Henrietta Green, expert on regional food and Richard Johnson, award winning food journalist and broadcaster.
You can find details of the teams here and don't forget, we will have the recipes available for all the dishes each day, so you can Taste the Nation for yourself.
