Can Val make the effort to sort things with Pollard and Amy or is it too little too late? Amy doesn’t show up for work and Val takes her worry out on Pollard and the pair argue again. Their fear intensifies when David says he hasn’t seen Amy either. Amy is dressed up for a night on the town and is asleep on a bus with an unexplained black eye. Amy isn’t impressed when her phone rings and she sees Val is trying to get in touch. Unable to face Val, Amy heads over to the Dingles place instead. Belle hands Amy a photo of Kyle before she heads off to school, telling Amy she’s welcome to stay there. On her own at the Dingles, the tears begin and Amy finally lets her emotions out. Val and Pollard are still at each others throats. Val is annoyed when she finds out Amy has turned to the Dingles and she sets off to bring her home. When Val enters she’s speechless when she clocks Amy’s bruised eye. Val tries to stay calm but her temper flares and she loses it with Amy. As Val lets rip on an emotional Amy, Amy loses her front and breaks down in front of Val. Val realises the effect her behaviour has had and stunned by Amy’s reaction she runs off leaving Pollard shocked. Val’s thoughtful when Belle explains how well Amy coped during her pregnancy and Val gives her some pictures of Kyle she’s collected for a baby book. She tells Amy she wants to put everything behind them and look to the future. Amy gives in and hugs Val. Diane can’t believe her ears when later Val tells her she’s glad to have sorted things with Amy but she still wants revenge on Pollard for almost costing her her relationship with Amy.

Nicola insists Rodney pay back the money. Nicola thrives on the power she has over Carl and repeatedly reminds him she could go to the police at any minute. Nicola is furious when Jimmy the money to pay off Rodney came from the business. Without the money being replaced the business will fail. Rodney is at a loss when Nicola tells him the money must be replaced. Rodney reacts by playing hardball and laying down a few of his own terms.

Also, Moira is finally driven to the point of snapping during an argument with Chas over John. She reveals she still loves him and it’s obvious the relationship between Chas and John is breaking her heart. However, she’s aware of the damage her actions have caused and she knows it’s not enough for John. Adam follows her out as Chas makes her apologies to John. Adam’s anger over the John and Chas situation boils over when Moira has to stop herself from crying again. Ashley’s determined to make tonight’s family meal special despite the fact that Sandy hasn’t been invited. Later, Ashley is annoyed when Sandy calls to say he’s cut himself and Ashley has no option but to leave the meal to take him to A and E. Sandy returns with a bandaged hand and we see Ashley’s resentment towards his father when he snaps at Laurel.
