Debbie first arrived in the village on Christmas Eve 2002 when Paddy and Emily Kirk fostered her. It eventually emerged that Cain and Charity Dingle were actually Debbie’s parents.

Debbie has the selfish traits of a Dingle with little of the family values.

She went from having a crush on the vicar to a relationship with Andy Sugden wich resulted in Debbie getting pregnant and lying about the fact, untill the baby was actually born.

Debbie couldn't bond with baby Sarah though and begged Emily to take her away from Emmerdale whcih she did, much to the horror of the rest of the Dingle clan.

After this, Debbie grew closer to her best mate Jasmine Thomas. They embarked on a lesbian relationship but Jasmine felt increasingly awkward and started to get close to Debbie’s dad Cain. But she was only a pawn in his game to get back at Debbie.

Debbie had a relationship with her cousin Eli but that fizzled out after she grew bored of his Dingle ducking and diving ways.

Jasmine killer her ex boyfriend Shane Doyle after he attacked her in her flat, and Debbie and Eli helped her to dump the body. Debbie was later charged with murder but Jasmine turned up at her court hearing and confessed all, leading to Debbie being sentenced to six months in jail while Jasmine was sent down for four years.

Debbie began dating Michael Conway but was horrified when she found out that he was engaged to her mother, Charity Tate. She then moved to Jersey with Sarah for a few months before returning to the village, where she revealed that she was pregnant to her married boss, Cameron. Tragedy struck, however, when she had a miscarriage.

Debbie has recently become pregnant by Andy in a bid to help their daughter Sarah, who is suffering from a serious illness.

Before landing the role of Debbie Dingle, Charley Webb appeared on the stage in Manchester in a production of Bugsy Malone.
