Christian Cooke says Demons was not good enough

Former Demons actor Christian Cook has said that the show was axed because "it wasn't good enough", according to reports.

The 23-year-old played Luke Rutherford, the last descendant of Van Helsing, in the supernatural drama series.

Christian thinks that the show only lasted for one series as it did not have a clear audience.

He told Digital Spy: "It probably wasn't good enough, at the end of the day!

"And also, there are things like timing. Perhaps it was too scary for little kids but not scary enough for the cult audience.

"It's just luck of the draw sometimes."

The actor is to star in a new ITV2 teen drama called Trinity which revolves around the scandalous and secret affairs at Trinity College.

Describing his new character he says: "I play Dorian, who is the head of the Dandelion Club.

"He's this rich, aristocratic, right-wing sleaze! He struts around the university with a cane and tries to shag as many birds as he can.

"Then he meets Charlotte, who is the student rep, and she sort of resists the temptation to sleep with him, so there's an ongoing battle between them."
