Just when you thought this year’s Dancing on Ice line-up couldn’t get more exciting, they’ve only gone and added Chico to the bill!

The former X Factor star’s arrival is tinged with sadness, as he will replace Chesney Hawkes, who has had to pull out due to injury, but cheeky Chico is vowing to do his best and make our Chezzer proud.

He said: “While I'm really excited about being part of the new series of Dancing On Ice, it's not necessarily in the best of circumstances.

“I wish Chesney all the best and a speedy recovery. I will not just be skating just for myself, I’ll be skating for Chesney as well and do him proud.”

Chico, once a lonely goat herder and now TV favourite, first came to the nation’s attention when he took part in the X Factor in 2006.

Despite being booted off the in the quarter-finals of the show, the 40 year old went on to enjoy a number one hit with infectious pop track Chico Time.

Is it Chico’s time to shine once more? We’ll find out when Dancing on Ice kicks off on STV on Sunday. What time is it?! 6.30…
