Dancing on Ice hopeful Jennifer Ellison revealed her confidence on the ice has been given a huge knock, after she injured herself on the show last week.

Viewers watched in horror last Sunday, as former Brookside star Jen performed a scorpion kick, accidentally catching the back of her head in the process and cutting her scalp.

The top of Jen’s head was covered with blood after the accident - but showing she's a real trouper, carried on until the end of her routine.

Amazingly, Jen got her highest score of the series so far – 19 points out of a possible 30 – but she admitted on today’s episode of Lorraine that the accident has really dented her confidence.

She said: "To be honest I felt not too bad afterwards considering the force I hit myself with." She added: "[But] I went into a bit of shock and it's kind of set me back a little bit.”

Jennifer then said she felt as if she’d been improving on the ice dancing show – but now feels like she's suffered a setback, concluding: "I feel like I've gone back to square one. I'm like Bambi."

To add to her lack of confidence on the ice now, Jen said that she and professional partner Dan Whiston haven’t even started rehearsing for this weekend’s live show.

Looks like you’re going to have a busy weekend Jen!

Dancing on Ice is back on ITV and STV this Sunday from 6.05pm.
